Pancytopenia and Stomatitis in Two Older Adults

      Pancytopenia has a wide differential diagnosis. Stomatitis, in turn, is usually attributed early to viral infections, presumably herpetic in most cases; however, when presented with pancytopenia, it is typical of patients hospitalized in hematology/oncology wards. We present 2 cases of similar clinical features with a common cause, which is sometimes neglected.
