      Endometriosis is a benign disorder that is commonly found in the pelvic peritoneum, ovaries, and rectovaginal septum. It affects 6%-10% of all women of reproductive age and 6% of postmenopausal women.

      Uncommon locations of endometriosis have been described in almost all tissue and organs, such as the rectum, bladder, ureter, jejunum, ileum, skin, pleura, lung, and brain.
