Abstract
Visual symptoms, including acute monocular visual loss, papilledema, visual field
deficits, anisocoria, limitations of eye movements, and nystagmus, can be the presenting
feature of a wide range of important neurologic diseases. It is important for primary
care clinicians to be to be able to direct appropriate initial diagnostic assessment,
treatment, and referral for further evaluation of these conditions.
